7 Ways to Keep Your Mind on Christ in the Midst of Chaos

A lot of times we REACT to our situations instead of reviewing the PLAN. First, we need to know what that plan is! I know because I had failed at this before! Let me help you to not make the same mistakes that I did.. Here are some great tips! 🙂

1- Remember that it’s not about you. Your life is for the glory of God & you play a  special part in HIS kingdom making. “He came to seek and to save that which was lost.” -Luke 19:10

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”-John 12:32

“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”-2 Corinthians 5:18

2- Remember what He has done in the Bible and in your own life! We are talking about the God who parted the Red Sea! He even came to Earth as a baby, lived a sinless life, died for your sins, & rose again to live forever so that you could be in a relationship with HIM. This is what it’s all about! Don’t forget it and write it down.

3- Repeat thankfulness, out loud, for all of the good things in your life. Even if it is something simple like, “Thank you Lord, that I woke up today in good health!” This totally changes your perspective and gets you refocused!

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:4-8)

4- Pray for others! This creates an unselfish focus. There are other people in the world that are going through much worse things than you are & they can really use your prayers right now! I know you can think of them right now.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”- Ephesians 6:18 NIV

5- Ask others how you can help or serve them. Serving is just another way of keeping your mind on the most important things in this life and off of things that should NOT continue to consume your mind! Guess what?! You are being a perfect example of Christ in your faith!

..”just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”- Matthew 20:28 NIV

6- Turn on the Worship Music- This is also where we remember what we were created for-HIM! We were made to depend on Him and not live life on our own. Now that you know remember this, wait and watch for Him to act in your faithfulness. Singing songs to Him, remind us of our role in loving our Lord and putting His Name above all that we do!

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” Psalm 85:6 NIV
7- Leave the results of your circumstances with Him. Pray about them, but let them go.    As you do this, He will hold you! Trust Him to use your circumstances for His glory as He says He does. He is your Heavenly Father & He knows all about you already. He is fully aware of what is going on around you! Trust Him when He says, “I got this!”

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV
